Dr. Kirstina Rasmussen Collins comes to St. Michael’s following her receiving her Doctorate in Choral Conducting from the University of South Carolina. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Dr. Collins has worked as a music educator and musician for 20 years in various capacities. She has degrees in composition and conducting from the University of Southern California and Boston University. She has worked with various church, school, and community choirs, and is currently the artistic director of the Dutch Fork Choral Society. Prior to coming to St. Michael’s, Dr. Collins cantored regularly and led the Capella Pueri Children’s Choir at St. Peter’s Catholic Basilica in Columbia. She enjoys praising God through beautiful music making and looks forward to serving with the musicians of St. Michael’s. Kirstina lives in the Pontiac area with her husband Michael and two sons, Orion (10) and Skyler (7).
