St. Michael’s Early Learning Center (ELC) provides a safe, loving, developmentally appropriate environment where we nurture the whole child and introduce them to the Christian Faith. We believe that all areas of a child’s development (spiritual, intellectual, social-emotional, and physical) are interrelated and we take a holistic approach to education. We also offer additional courses in ballet, karate, and soccer.

The Early Learning Center at Saint Michael’s participates in the Child Care Aware program for military families and accepts ABC vouchers. Please contact our director, Joanne Vaughn, for more information.

Spend some time on our site getting to know us a little better and call us at 803-782-8800 or email our Director,Joanne Vaughn to schedule a tour or for further information.

What Parents Are Saying:

“Hey Helen-
I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all of the great new changes you have brought to St. Michael’s since you started. I have been very impressed and appreciative. I love the daily picture updates that are being sent and all of the extra activities you have planned. And I am especially grateful for the new 4K classroom. “A” loves his new classroom, and I have noticed a big, positive change in his progress with learning. My husband and I are very grateful for all that you do.”
Maureen J.

“St. Michael’s ELC provides a safe, nurturing and educational environment for children. Like any parent, I was nervous about leaving my son with virtual strangers beginning at 14 weeks old, but within weeks, his teachers became like family. I cannot say enough amazing things about all of the teachers my son has had in his four classrooms at St. Michael’s ELC. Their dedication to and genuine affection for my child allows me to concentrate on my demanding full-time job without having to worry about my son. The director continues to create the best possible learning environment where children can thrive. We initially chose St. Michael’s ELC because of its proximity to our home, but I’m glad we did because we have gained so much in our relationship with the teachers as well as new friends in other families with children there.”

“My family has been so pleased with the care and education that our son has received at St. Michael’s ELC. The teachers and staff truly love him and have been instrumental in helping him to grow and develop. They also help me anytime I have a concern about anything from a developmental milestone to knowing how to navigate the next developmental phase that he is entering (thank goodness for the potty-training advice!!) All of the parents also do an excellent job of supporting one another. It is definitively a nurturing environment for our whole family that has a wonderful sense of community. I would highly recommend St. Michael’s ELC!”

“We have found our home at St. Michael’s ELC! We have been so happy to find such a loving place where our children are nurtured and loved while we are at work. The Staff is so caring and intuitive, and our children love coming to school every day! We are lucky to have found the ELC and will cherish our time here!”
